1972 Beechcraft C23 Sundowner 180

    N2975L

This low-time Beechcraft Sundowner C23 is a solid, well-cared-for airplane with only 3,419 total time. The aircraft is flown regularly, so times will continue to change. Known for its robust construction and stable handling, this Sundowner is a sturdy, clean aircraft with no discrepancies, aside from a few minor cosmetic imperfections, and is equipped with dual toe brakes. The owner has spared no expense to ensure the airplane is mechanically excellent.

The airframe is corrosion-free and spent the majority of its life based in Kentucky, only relocating to the Gulf Coast in 2024. The aircraft is well equipped with Rosen sun visors and rides on 6-ply Goodyear tires, making it comfortable and ready for cross-country flying or continued training use. Complete logbooks are available since new.

Power is provided by a Lycoming O-360-A4G, 180 HP engine that recently underwent an IRAN (Inspect and Repair As Necessary) by Pinnacle Aircraft Engines after a reported power reduction. The engine was completely torn down and meticulously inspected. During the IRAN, it received a new camshaft, lifters, crankshaft gear, oil pump, and new Superior Millennium cylinders, along with new Lord engine mounts and an overhauled Marvel carburetor. All work remains under warranty, including a 12-month warranty from Pinnacle and a 2,000-hour warranty on the cylinders from Superior.

Avionics include a new Garmin GI 275 MFD, dual comm radios, Narco 80 transponder, digital EGT/CHT gauge, OAT gauge, and Hobbs meter. The aircraft is ADS-B Out compliant via a uAvionix wingtip SkyBeacon.

The aircraft is fully compliant and up to date on inspections. All ADs are complied with. The annual inspection was completed in April 2025, and the transponder and IFR static inspections were also completed in April 2025, remaining current through April 2027. The ELT batteries are current through March 2032, and a new Concord RG-35A battery was installed in March 2024.

Additional equipment includes a custom Bruce’s cover, tow bar, cowl plugs, and a pitot tube cover.

Overall, this Sundowner represents a turn-key, mechanically strong aircraft with complete logs since new, recent major engine work, modern avionics upgrades, and a clean airframe history — an excellent option for an owner-pilot seeking reliability, stability, and long-term value.
